Teacher Appreciation Fund
What Is It?
The SLC Governing Board and Parent Committee are pleased to announce a new and streamlined way to honor SLC’s fabulous teachers: the SLC Teacher Appreciation Fund.
Historically, SLC Room Parents in each class have been responsible for collecting donations and distributing teacher gifts at the winter holidays, teacher birthdays, and during the spring Teacher Appreciation Week. The SLC Teacher Appreciation Fund replaces this process, eliminating the need for Room Parent requests for donations and allowing families with children in multiple rooms to donate to one central fund.
While participation in the SLC Teacher Appreciation Fund is voluntary, we hope you will consider making a contribution. Not only does it allow you to cross holiday and year-end teacher gifts off of your to-do list, it, most importantly, enables our school community to acknowledge all of our teachers in the same manner at the same time.
How Does It Work?
SLC will collect contributions for the Teacher Appreciation Fund twice during the academic year, once in the fall and again in the spring.
Each December, all SLC teachers will receive a holiday bonus check from money donated to the Teacher Appreciation Fund. Bonuses will be distributed commensurate with the amount of time teachers teach.
At the end of the school year, the Teacher Appreciation Fund will be used to provide a lovely luncheon and small gift for all SLC teachers. In addition, Room Parents will coordinate personalized cards from the children.
All funds in the SLC Teacher Appreciation Fund will be distributed by the end of each academic year.

The suggested annual contribution is $60 per child at SLC, but we welcome your contribution at any amount. We hope this is an easy way for you to show our SLC teachers how much we appreciate all they do for our children each and every day!
