Teacher Appreciation Fund

What Is It?

The SLC Governing Board and Parent Committee are excited to introduce the Teacher Appreciation Fund (TAF), a streamlined way to show appreciation for our amazing teachers. This fund allows families to contribute to a central pool, which is then distributed as biannual bonuses to SLC staff. Donations to the TAF help ensure that all teachers are recognized equitably.

Participation in the Teacher Appreciation Fund is voluntary, but we hope you will consider contributing. The suggested annual donation is $75 per child, though any amount is greatly appreciated.

How Does It Work?

SLC will collect contributions for the Teacher Appreciation Fund throughout the school year. Twice a year, in December and May, all SLC staff members will receive bonus checks based on the number of days they work.

In addition, the Teacher Appreciation Fund will support Teacher Appreciation Week in March and, if funds allow, a year-end luncheon in June. All funds in the Teacher Appreciation Fund will be fully distributed by the end of the academic year.

Room Parents play a key role in communicating about the TAF and in personalizing the distribution of bonus checks each year.
